About Alexander

Alexander Pavlenko was born 1963 in Ryazan, Russia. In Moskow and Ryazan, he studied history, art and animation before working for A. Tatarsky at the animation studio Pilot and creating the artwork for Sci-Fi and adventure novels.  
Since 1992, he lives and works in Germany. Always following his passion for history, literature, and art, he illustrated the works of Alexander Pushkin, Georges Batailles, de Sade, Oscar Wilde, E.T.A. Hoffmann and many more. His international collaborations and exhibitions include Éditions Denoël, the State Russian Museum, Edition Faust, and Éditions Gallimard.
